Promotion Review Board (PRB) Overview

Perform before the meeting

During the PRB

  1. Knock once on the door to the Cadet Staff Trailer—if told to “Stand By,” then wait for 30 seconds and knock again. Repeat until you are told to “Enter.”
  2. Walk to the candidate chair in a military manner and report: “Cadet [grade] [last name] reporting as ordered” while saluting.
  3. There will be a uniform inspection.
  4. Speak with confidence when you are asked a question.
  5. You will be asked to say the memory work, for example, a PRB member may ask for the Honor Code and you respond with: “Sir/Sergeant the Honor code is as follows…
  6. You will be asked questions from the appropriate Leadership Chapters and AE module.
  7. You will be asked general questions about what it means to be a cadet.
  8. The president of the PRB will tell you: “That will be all,” to which you reply “Thank you Sir/Sergeant will that be all” while saluting, to which the president of the PRB will respond &$8220;That will be all&8221; while returning the salute.
  9. 9. You will exit the door in a military fashion and wait outside the door to be recalled.
  10. 10. When you are recalled, then you will follow steps 1 and 2 above.
  11. 11. After the Form 50 has been reviewed, you will follow step 8 and return to the Cadet trailer.

SaluteKnights in armor raised visors with the right hand when meeting a comrade; this practice gradually became a way of showing respect and, in early American history, involved removing the hat. By 1820, the motion was modified to touching the hat, and since then it has become the Hand Salute used today.
